As I’ve discussed in the past we own a small farm in the Kiel area of Wisconsin and plant several crops. The majority are used to feed wild life, but this fall we planted one of the fields on our farm with Soft Red Winter Wheat. The below picture was taken this week and as you can see our crop made it through the winter and should be ready for harvest in mid to late July. This will supply us with our own “grown local” crop that we control.
We will be using this in wheat style beers in celebration of the great culture of our farmers and all they produce for us. We will keep you updated as to the progress with pictures offered during the stages of the season.
